Keittiön mustan astiahyllyn takaseinän tapetointi on ollut mielessä pitkään. En vain saanut millään päätettyä, minkälainen tapetti siihen sopisi. Hyllyn muotoihin olisi hyvin käynyt joku retrovivahteinen geometrinen kuvio, mutta tiedän jo ennestään, että retrot eivät ole minua varten. Ne näyttävät hauskoilta muualla, mutta kotona en jaksa niitä kauaa katsella. Toile de jouy-kuviosta taas pidän ihan hurjasti, mutta mietin, että se ei pääsisi oikeuksiinsa astioiden takaa. Se kuvio on nimittäin parhaimmillaan, kun näkee isomman palan kerralla. Se taas ei tässä ole astiasäilytyksen vuoksi mahdollista. Lopulta Zara Home-kaupasta löytyi rulla sopivaa tapettia. Aika neutraali valinta, mutta kuvio ja väritys on ihan mun makuun. Projekti ei ole vielä edes alkanut, mutta tuli tietysti jo kiusaus kokeilla, miltä se tulee näyttämään, joten pujotin suikaleen hyllyjen taakse.

Wallpapering the back wall of the kitchen shelf has been in my mind for quite a while now. I just had major difficulties to decide what sort of print would fit to it. Looking at the shape of the furniture some retro print would probably have matched quite nicely. However, I know myself. Vintage works with me, retro does not. Toile de jouy prints make me always happy, but then such complex drawings demand that one sees a larger junk at the time. That is not possible in this case, because the shelf is used for storing dishes. Finally I found something in Zara Home. This paper is a rather neutral choice, but both the color and the print is totally to my taste. The project has not even started, but I was tempted to test how it looks like and slipped a stroke of the paper behind the shelves...
